Xiao-Wei Zhu

Xiao-Wei Zhu (“Wei”) is a Commercialization Advisor for SBIR grantee companies with phase I and phase II awards from NSF, NIST, NIH, and DOE, help awardees build business models with optimal financial structure and establish market positions through effective go-to-market strategies. Over the past ten years, she helped commercialize 100+ federal funded SBIR/STTR projects in Information & Communication Technology, life sciences and Clean Energy, achieving revenue generation and monetization through product market launch, licensing agreements, equity financing, non-dilutive funding, and successful merger & acquisition exits.

Prior to her current advisory role, Wei held C-level executive positions in a wide range of commercial entity from multi-billion dollar publicly traded corporations, to mid-size growth companies and early stage startups, with responsibilities in P&L, strategic alliance, corporate development, marketing and sales. Some of her successes include negotiate and establish joint venture and strategic partnerships in US and oversea markets, led profitable business with 60x times revenue growth in three years, achieve 30+% annual growth in channel/OEM/ISV revenue, and establish industry leading clinical and life science informatics solutions on SaaS and cloud based platforms.

Wei holds a PhD in mathematics from The Johns Hopkins University and completed the executive programs in Business Analysis and Valuation at Harvard Business School.
