Susan Rowinski

As an Expert Resource in Larta’s Commercialization Assistance Programs since 2008, Susan mentors entrepreneurs on matters related to strategic and tactical reimbursement planning & implementation for companies developing or selling medical devices, digital health technologies, Point of Care and lab based diagnostics and imaging systems such as real time MRI guidance.

Susan has over 25 years of management and consulting experience in developing, launching and selling medical technologies for the US and international markets. Currently Susan is the President & CEO of Rowinski Group, LLC a reimbursement and monetization consultancy for the medical technology industry ( www.reimbursement.consulting ).

Rowinski Group was founded in 2004 and since its founding has been retained by over 227 medical technology companies. The consultancy main office is in Silicon Valley. Rowinski Group helps companies solve their product development and sales challenges by securing payer reimbursement approvals for their medical technology, identifying monetization pathways in the absence of payer reimbursement and using healthcare payer data analytics to solve companies marketing, sales, regulatory and clinical trial issues. Rowinski Group is a nationally certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE). As a certified Women’s Business Enterprise, Rowinski Group can assist companies and government agencies to meet their supplier diversity goals and objectives.

Prior to starting Rowinski Group in 2004, Susan was a senior officer in Fortune 500 and start-up medical device companies. She secured payer approvals and was responsible for three product launches into US Euro-zone and Japan markets. She held management positions with increasing responsibility which included, the Vice President, Marketing (Pharma Sonics, Sunnyvale, CA.) where she responsible for global reimbursement and marketing, Director of Marketing (Cardio metrics, Mountain View, CA.), Global Marketing Manager (Medtronic, San Diego, CA), and Product Manager (Quinton Instrument Company (Seattle, WA.) Ms. Rowinski began her life sciences career as a Cardiology Ultrasound Territory Representative for Advanced Technology Labs (Seattle, WA) and responsible for the annual sales quota of $1M for a five western U.S. state sales territory.

Susan is a member of the teaching faculty for the University of California, San Francisco, the University of Michigan and Georgia Institute of Technology. Her teaching focuses on reducing the risks associated with transitioning medical technologies from the academic setting to the commercial market. She is also a regular speaker at conferences regarding the impact of payer data and reimbursement on designing, launching and selling a new technology.

Susan holds a Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Washington (Seattle WA) and a Bachelor of Science in Health Physics from Purdue University (W. Lafayette, IN).
