Sandor Schoichet

As a Principal Advisor with the Larta Institute, Sandor brings over 20 years of hands-on experience with technology, product, and business development in life science and technology companies. For the past few years he has been deeply involved with the new world of controlled environment agriculture (CEA), especially crop lighting and systems integration. His ongoing work in the biopharma and synthetic biology sectors provides an opening to potential partners and customers.

Sandor is co-founder and Director of Meridian Management Consultants, where, in addition to advising early-stage life science and ag tech companies, he works with larger biopharma clients on sustainability strategy and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance. Sandor created and produces the annual Biopharma Sustainability Roundtable and Investor Day, which has grown into a leading biopharma sector sustainability forum. Sandor is also a Director for the Alliance of Chief Executives, where he helps facilitate a quarterly Life Sciences Roundtable, and previously led an on-going early-stage CEO group. His work with early-stage companies began with three years as a start-up team mentor for the UC San Francisco Bio-Entrepreneurship program.

Before starting Meridian, Sandor worked with a wide range of life science, systems integration, and technology development organizations, in both executive and consulting roles. He was a Principal Consultant for PRTM (acquired by PwC) where he focused on improving the annual corporate planning cycle, capital portfolio management, and change leadership. Management roles included CIO for Gorilla Genomics, an early DNA synthesis start-up, and several years as Director of Information Sciences for Medical Affairs at Genentech, with responsibility for expanding and streamlining the clinical development systems infrastructure.

Sandor earned an MSEE in Computer Science from MIT with work on AI and distributed systems, and completed BS and BA degrees in Information Science and Philosophy at UC Santa Cruz.
