Luis Jimenez

Luis is an Expert Resource for Larta’s Commercialization Assistance Programs. He is an innovator, passionate entrepreneur, and life-sciences executive. His experience includes operations, quality control in cGMP manufacturing, regulatory affairs for manufacturing, design engineering, technology transfer and project management.

He is currently the Vice President of Business Development for Brandwood Biomedical a medical regulatory consulting firm specializing in helping medical device and diagnostic companies obtain and manage approvals in Asia Pacific. At his current role he interacts with numerous medical technology and pharma companies helping to troubleshoot complex problems. He also consults in BD and Strategy for Digital Medical Arts, a health IT startup focused on optimizing the medical consultation experience. In addition, he serves on the board of directors of Hemadvance, a therapeutic start-up aiming to develop an alternative to current ischemic stroke anti-coagulants.

His experience includes being the President and COO of EternoGen, a clinical state bio-tech company focusing on regenerative medicine. As president, he managed the development, production, financial aspects of the company while synchronizing with marketing and commercial strategies. During his tenure from 2010 to 2017, he helped raised close to $10M from investors, while compiling an international team specialized in Dermatology and Plastic Surgery. He previously worked for Johnson and Johnson in Operations for Cancer Diagnostic Assays commercialization, at BioTech Pharmacal as a Quality Engineer implementing systems for compliance to new FDA requirements in the production of over 100 nutraceutical products, and at Express Scripts’ Corporate Systems and Data-Warehousing in a leadership role on corporate-wide initiatives and projects.

His trajectory in diverse health-related companies and experience building an enterprise from the bottom-up provide him with hands-on experience with the challenges of start-up ventures and navigating regulatory approvals. He is passionate about entrepreneurship-triggered economic development and being an active community member.

Luis’s background includes Chemical Engineering, cum laude from the University of Arkansas with focuses on Computer Science and Economics, and a Masters of Business Administration with Academic Excellence from the University of Missouri.
