John Selep

John is a Principal Advisor for Larta’s Commercialization Assistance Programs, currently focused on Ag-&-Food technology innovations. An accomplished technology executive, John has been bringing new technologies to market for nearly three decades, having launched hundreds of new technology products across a variety of product domains in both small and large organizations. As President of the 501(c)3 non-profit supporting AgStart, one of Northern California’s longest-established incubators for Ag-and-Food technology startups, John provides guidance to a range of innovators and entrepreneurs transforming our food systems. John is also a co-founder of the VINE Institute, a California-based alliance of industry, educational, and government entities focused on accelerating new technologies and business models to transform our global food system. John is also a Board Director for the Sacramento Angels, part of a network of angel investor organizations across the Northern California region. John now serves as an investor, board member, business consultant, and advisor to multiple emerging ag-&-food technology companies, where John’s insights and practical business experience have helped dozens of emerging companies launch new enterprises in the food system, agricultural technology, and other technology domains. John holds a Bachelors in Systems & Electrical Engineering from Boston University, a Masters in Engineering from Stanford University, and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
