Jeff Knopf

Jeff is a Principal Advisor for Larta’s Commercialization Assistance Programs. With over 38 years professional experience holding both technical and commercial positions including Sales, Strategic Account Management, Commercial Development, Strategic Planning and Licensing, Jeff offers extensive experience as a Business Development Consultant with experience in multiple industrial segments and applications including industrial gases, petroleum refining, energy, wastewater treatment, pulp and paper manufacturing, and multiple applications of medical and industrial gases.

His commercial expertise lies in the following areas:

– New product planning, economic feasibility assessment, development and commercialization

– Collection and analysis of market data for strategic planning, competitor analysis and new offering development

– Use of Discovery Driven Planning and Stage Gate processes to efficiently bring product development programs
to key decision points

– Experience as coauthor for successful application and justification for R&D funding (Commercial lead for successful NIST/ATP award and Michael J Fox Foundation grant)

– Term sheet and contract drafting for Technical Agreements (i.e. License Agreement, Joint Development Agreement, Non-Disclosure Agreements) and Commercial Agreements (i.e. Long-term Products Supply Agreement, Joint Marketing Agreement, etc.) bridging the gap between commercial intent and legal review and finalization

– Forming, advising and leading Commercial Development teams

Jeff is currently Principal, AirLink Consulting Services, LLC, a firm specializing in the above areas of expertise bringing knowledge gained from a 31-year career with Air Products and Chemicals, a global, $8.9 billion company from which Jeff retired in 2018. Prior to establishing AirLink, Jeff established a multidisciplinary team and used Discovery Driven Planning methodology to frame and advance a novel business model designed to meet the growth objectives established by Air Products Senior Management for growth in North America. His contributions over 31 years at Air Products include licensing and technology transfer, including (i) closure of U.S. and international License Agreements, (ii) Commercial Development of novel product supply offerings for numerous products designed to follow the preferred “own and operate” company business model, and (iii) Business Development success closing long-term product supply Agreements which to date have generated over $120 MM.

Jeff holds a B.S. in Pre-medicine from Pennsylvania State University and M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
