As a Principal Advisor for Larta Institute, Ferey brings over 30 years of experience spanning product development and manufacturing, international Fortune 500 management consulting, investment banking, private equity and venture capital principal investing, and serial CEO operating experience in high-technology venture backed companies in both Northern and Southern California.
Ferey is currently a partner at the Newport Board Group, a national firm of experienced CEOs, who serve on the boards of growth and middle market companies on behalf of their owners, CEOs and private equity investors. Acting as a sounding board and river guide to CEOs, Ferey helps them deliver their mission of growth and exit planning while negotiating transitions and transactions that the company goes through as it grows.
Complementing his in-depth technology background, Ferey's expertise in finance is built on his investing experience as a Principal in BV Capital a $2B private equity fund and as a venture partner and West Coast representative of Cornerstone Ventures, a $100m venture capital fund. He has managed transactions in a number of M&A and private placement deals as a Vice President at Montgomery & Co, a boutique investment bank, and as a consultant to large buyout and private equity funds when at LEK, a global management consulting firm. He sits on the board of several companies and has also worked in Fortune 500 corporations at board level in 12 countries.
Ferey has mentored a diverse group of entrepreneurs building high-technology companies (TMT, energy, electronics, medical devices, materials, manufacturing, cleantech, ICT, healthcare, bio and pharma life sciences, AI and software) and enjoys helping entrepreneurs succeed in their mission to finance and grow their companies.
Ferey earned a Ph.D. in Electronics and an MS in Microwaves & Modern Optics from University College, London as well as an M.B.A. from Cambridge University.
