Rob Dullien focuses on guiding the development of products that are to pass major hurdles in the commercial arena. He is generally first involved in the prototyping and testing phase, where market research, industry and competitive analysis provide key design criteria. He then helps lead the company to commercial production, marketing and sales.
Rob is Managing Partner at Dullien Associates, LLC, a management advisory firm headquartered in Boulder, Colorado. Dullien Associates provides services to companies active in life sciences, information technology and food & nutrition. Before founding the firm, Rob was a co-founder of three consecutive entrepreneurial product start-up ventures. In prior years, Rob had worked for companies in engineering (heat transfer, foods and supplements, soils, civil, structural, earthquake and manufacturing process design), government policy consulting, CAD sales and market & industry analyses. His employers included Procter & Gamble, Data Resources, Arthur D. Little and Frost & Sullivan. Rob has also taught, as an adjunct professor, for five years at the University of Colorado's Leeds School of Business (Business Strategy) and seven years at the Colorado School of Mines (Engineering Design and Communication Skills).
Rob guides and aids CEO’s and marketing managers with obtaining the critical market research and competitive assessment inputs, as well as with intellectual property issues, strategic partnering and funding. He is comfortable working in such diverse areas as meteorology, forestry, food & nutrition – food and beverage development, liquid crystals, imaging, software and specialized materials. His expertise is grounded in his education, experience with hundreds of technology-based ventures and his own entrepreneurial ventures. He has obtained or helped get patents; had successful FDA and health agency inspections in his own business; has raised money for growth; and commercialized products. He has manufactured products in the nutritional food & beverage space, branded them, and successfully marketed them. In his own past businesses, as well as for current clients, when additional resources are required, Rob can call on a large network of experts who can step in as needed to advance clients' vital interests.
His education includes an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BSc in Applied Science from Caltech. Rob has authored numerous papers and articles addressing subjects that connect engineering and business, as well as widely distributed Frost & Sullivan reports.
