Sanjeev is currently Senior Manager of Business Development & Research Alliances at Dechra Pharmaceuticals, where he is responsible for short and long term product portfolio and creating product portfolio strategy for North America, Sub Saharan Africa and South Asia. Prior to joining Dechra, Sanjeev was responsible for global external innovation portfolio (farm & companion animal pharmaceuticals and vaccines), technology acquisitions and alliance management at Elanco Animal Health, then a division of Eli Lilly & Company. His contributions included creating strategy to repurpose human health drugs for animal health, promote the use of immune modulators to reduce dependency on antibiotics, and as an advisor to Lilly’s Next Generation Research strategy team. Sanjeev was one of the founding member of the team that created “Human Protein Reference Database” where he developed annotation strategies and contributed towards software development. He has extensive experience in preclinical and clinical drug and vaccine development, government contracts, and creating research and marketing strategies for developing and developed markets.
Sanjeev holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM), dual M.Vet.Sc. degree in Micriobiology & Pathology and an integrated Ph.D. degree in Virology, Vaccinology & Immunology from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. He has multiple certifications in Bioinformatics, Informatics and Management, is a Certified Strategic Alliance Manager and member of The Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals.
