    Larta has assisted NIH-supported SBIR/STTR early stage life science and medical technology ventures to accelerate their market readiness. Our methodology includes one-on-one work with our professional mentors, targeted assistance from expert resources, and relentless partner/customer interactions to help entrepreneurs and researchers develop viable market-entry strategies, while supporting the Agency’s commercialization goals.  Since launch, Larta Alumni companies have raised from 3rd party funding sources, executed deals and led to acquisitions.     U.S. Department of Agriculture - Commercialization Assistance Program Phase 1 (USDA-CAP1)

    Since 2012, Larta has designed USDA-CAP1 to accelerate Phase 1 USDA grant awardees' commercialization outcomes and work towards winning a USDA Phase II grant. Participating companies receive one-on-one mentorship from seasoned mentors, world-class research and content for strategy development, interactive webinars, market-based feedback and strategic introductions to Fortune 1000 companies. 76% of companies in our program won a USDA Phase II grant.     U.S. Department of Agriculture - Commercialization Assistance Training Program (USDA-CATP)

    We translate USDA’s investment in a wide range of applied agricultural technology projects into sustainable business enterprises.  Supporting Phase II SBIR/STTR awardees, USDA-CATP is comprised of training seminars, individual mentoring and exposure to potential partner/investor networks within the agri-business sector. Participants develop a Commercialization Strategy Report (CSR). Participants generated contacts with prospective partners, term sheets, and deals. Learn more about this program here.

    National Science Foundation - Commercialization Assistance Program (NSF-CAP1)

    As a commercialization partner to NSF, each year Larta catalyzes commercial outcomes and serves as an advocate for close to 200 cutting edge innovations in diverse sectors (chemicals, advanced materials, energy and renewables, electronics & IT, healthcare, and manufacturing tech). Larta’s customer-focused methodology is supplemented by learning modules that help companies develop a flexible and realistic commercialization plan to support their next level of development and fundraising activities and strategic introductions to drive market and customer awareness.     U.S. Department of Energy SBIR/STTR Commercialization Assistance Program (DOE CAP)

    The U.S. Department of Energy Commercialization Assistance Program (DOE CAP) is designed to help entrepreneurs achieve commercial success in the marketplace. Active DOE SBIR/STTR Phase I or Phase II awardees that did not request and budget for an external commercialization provider in their SBIR/STTR application are eligible to participate in the DOE CAP. Once enrolled, Larta will identify a dedicated Principal Advisor and/or specialist from its network of highly skilled subject matter experts to work exclusively with each company based on specific needs as follows:

  • NIST Technology Commercialization Assistance Program (NIST-TCAP)

    NIST Technology Commercialization Assistance Program (NIST-TCAP)

    With a successful partnership in 2005, NIST awarded Larta a formal program in 2014: the NIST Technology Commercialization Assistance Program (TCAP) for its SBIR grantees. Using Larta’s customer-focused methodology and supplemented learning modules, NIST-TCAP is designed to help companies develop a flexible and realistic commercialization plan as part of their Phase II grant proposal, support their next level of development, fundraising activities, and strategic introductions. The program is designed to continue in Phase II for successful Phase II applicants, by putting the CP that was developed in Phase I to action. Phase II grantees will work on specific targeted outcome(s) to move forward through Phase II and beyond.
