What will you do?
We are looking for a Network Administrator on contract basis to maintain a reliable, secure and efficient data communications network. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment to ensure smooth network operation.
The Network Administrator will have to maintain the physical network and machines in our office as well as our cloud infrastructure in Azure and AWS.
This role requires to communicate and work closely with the Software Development team to ensure their needs for infrastructure support are met and defined policies and permissions are enforced. Remote monitoring capabilities as part of your contractual responsibilities are required.
Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade corporate customer’s networks and servers, routers and switches
Install and integrate new server hardware and applications
Upgrade and repair computer networks
Troubleshoot network issues
Support and administer third-party applications
Deploy and update software
Ensure network security and connectivity
Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses
Manage cloud and physical network storage
Set up user accounts, permissions and passwords
Resolve problems reported by end user
Define network policies and procedures
Specify system requirements and design solutions
Maintain network and hardware inventory
Research and make recommendations on server system administration
Contracted Hourly Position: Up to $60.00/hour
Proven experience in a network administrator role
Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching
Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
Ability to set up and configure server hardware
Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
Great at organizing, prioritizing, multitasking and a drive to learn more
BS degree in Computer Science or related field
