Leif Christoffersen
Principal Advisor - Energy/Cleantech
Over the last 18 years the core of Leif’s career has focused on developing and implementing successful business ventures based on the triple bottom line (people, planet, and profit). His first foray into this career focus was in Costa Rica where he worked through CARE Costa Rica and APROCAM to help subsistence blackberry farmers move their market from the shoulder of the InterAmerican Highway to US and European organic produce markets. He was also engaged in similar work in Africa through such projects as a forest inventory project in Botswana and an agro-forestry extension project in Kenya.
In addition to his administrative, strategic, and business development responsibilities at Teotl, Leif currently works with the following Teotl clients: an early stage renewable energy project developer, a broker dealer firm focusing on clean tech start-ups, an early stage cleantech focused hedge fund, and the largest integrated renewable energy venture in Hawaii. His previous Teotl clients include a specialty renewable energy feedstock producer, an early stage start-up specialty feedstock developer, a natural rubber and latex agriculture and manufacturing small business, a biomass to biofuel start-up, and a carbon trading early stage start-up.
Leif received his B.A. in Economics from Hobart College where he won the Elizabeth and Ruth Young Peace Prize and he received an MBA from UCSD’s Rady School of Management where he was elected by his peers to serve as Director for the Alumni Association’s Board.
