Steven Fritz, Ph.D.
Principal Advisor - Energy/Cleantech
Dr. Fritz has over forty scientific publications in medical imaging. His research activities included development of digital imaging systems and a digital image network management system. He has over twenty years of experience in software design and development of real-time image acquisition systems.
Dr. Fritz is also President of Emerald Sky Technologies, a private avionics technology transfer company, since its formation in 2007 and has been Project Director of two phase 1 NASA SBIR projects. He was Director, Technology Transfer for the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) from August 2000 to January 2007, responsible for TEDCO technology investment programs and coordination of business development activities. From July 1997 to August 2000 he was Associate Vice President, Research and Development at the University of Maryland, Baltimore.
Dr. Fritz has a Ph.D. in Radiation Biophysics from the University of Kansas. He was on the faculty of the Diagnostic Radiology Department at the University of Kansas School of Medicine from 1977 until 1986, earning tenure and rising to the rank of Associate Professor. In 1986 he became Chief of the Imaging Physics section of the Department of Diagnostic Radiology in the School of Medicine at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. He was awarded tenure at the University of Maryland, and grew the Imaging Physics branch to four faculty members and two research associates, continuing in this role until 1997.
