Dr. Barry has over fifteen years of experience in technical business development and has founded, managed and secured funding for biotech start-up companies serving as President, Director of Research, and Chief Technical Officer. Dr. Barry was involved in developing a number of commercial interests in the healthcare field ranging from independent analytical testing laboratories, scientific resource companies and therapeutic development companies capable of identifying, qualifying and producing novel new drug candidates targeting Inflammation and Arthritis, Prostate Disease, Viral Infection, Cancer, Ophthalmic Disease and Gastrointestinal Disorders. Dr. Barry received a B.S. in Biology from Boston College, and the Ph.D. in Chemistry/Biochemistry with a focus on Mechanistic Enzymology from the University of Maryland, conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School in the Department of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, served as adjunct professor at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and is a former staff research scientist in neuropathology at Harvard Medical School.
