Larta Company Receives $10 Million Payment, Sets IPO Share Price
Targacept, Inc., a 2005 Larta Institute ATP Entrepreneur Education Workshop participant, was given an initial $10 million licensing payment from AstraZeneca in February as part of an exclusive license and research collaboration that could be worth as much as $300 million. In March, the company set the price for a 5 million-share initial public offering.

Larta Company Gets $2 million Investment

Vivo Biosciences Inc. (VBI) and Toucan Capital Corporation reached agreement last summer on a $2 million investment, provided in several payments, to fund VBI’s revolutionary preclinical drug-testing technology. Vivo Biosciences, a 2004-05 Larta NIH Commercialization Assistance Program graduate, was introduced to Toucan Capital at Larta’s 2005 Venture Forum.
