17: California Council of Science and Technology Hitachi California
Public Affairs Forum 2002, Innovation at Risk
Research and technology innovation has fueled the rapid expansion
of high-tech industries during the past decade, and helped
make California's economy the fifth largest in the world.
Yet several recent studies, including CCST's Critical Path
Analysis, point to a growing science and engineering workforce
gap that is threatening the nation's technology based economy.
This Innovation Forum will provide the opportunity to bring
sound analysis of the technical workforce production process
and to bring together business and academic leaders to develop
a specific action plan for California. The event, consisting
of both presentations and panel discussions, takes place from
8:30 am - 4pm, at the Keck School of Medicine, USC. Please
RSVP for this meeting by May 9, by calling 916-492-0996 or
by email at innovation@ccst.ucr.e.
