It was a little over two summers ago when George Lucas, arguably the world's most bankable director, announced that he would digitally project The Phantom Menace, his long awaited Star Wars follow-up, in four theaters across the US. This marked the first occasion that a major studio feature would be projected electronically. Since then, the interest in both digital film creation, and digitally converting multiplexes everywhere, has been growing rapidly within the entertainment industry, which forsees massive distribution and production cost savings on the "d-cinema" horizon.

Coming this October: Hollywood Unstrung II
