Aibo, the $2500 robotic dog released by Sony
in 1999 at the peak of the dot com boom, was
the premier toy for e-yuppies who wanted to
splurge a little of their newfound wealth.
A series of attacks have recently been reported
in Silicon Valley, Silicon Alley and West
LA areas, including a fatal assault upon a
laid off dot com executive in San Francisco.

and Mouth Virus Traced Back to Source
Scientists at the Centers for Disease Control
in London and US-based Symantec, who create
anti-virus software, have traced the source
of Britain's foot and mouth disease virus
to Microsoft's Outlook application, a popular
choice for spreading any virus rapidly. British
Prime Minister Tony Blair commended the team
for tracing the origins of the virus. "It's
good to know that an application we can normally
trust to propagate a virus as quickly as Outlook
has come through again."
