KOREA - U.S.
TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER BRIDGE
RECAP
Los Angeles, California- December 3, 2007
The
Korea-U.S. Technology Transfer Bridge concluded its last day of
events on November 20th, as the Koreans returned to
their home country after a warm response to the program. As a collaboration
between TechnoValue/Business Network
& Systems Development International (bnsD)
and Larta Institute, this Technology Transfer Bridge hosted a
comprehensive educational program and study tour for technology
transfer managers of various regional technology transfer
centers (RTTCs)
from Korea.
As the Network T2 program and the U.S. SBIR Mandate & Program represent a solid picture of successful
technology transfer in California, these two studies were highly
well-received by the
Korean delegation,
and set the stage for a complete and informative program on
program management and business development in this field.
Moreover, the participants were given the opportunity to grasp
issues surrounding technology transfer directly from the
research and financial points of view, upon visiting and making
contacts with several institutions such as the California
Institute of Technology Office of Technology Transfer, CONNECT,
and CommNexus. Overall, the
participants
will be looking forward to applying the valuable lessons learned
to their own areas of experience and hope to return to Larta for
future capacity building programs.
