the 2010 Ag Innovation Showcase
The two day conference will highlight up-and-coming entrepreneurial companies with solutions to the most pressing challenges facing agriculture, present opportunities for partnering, strategic deals, and collaborative business ventures between participants, as well as connect a prime network of entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, and investors in the ag space.
Throughout the month of February, Larta Institute team members are facilitating Feedback Sessions for companies participating in the 2009-2010 Commercialization Training Track of the NIH Commercialization Assistance Program. Sessions are being held around the country in Washington, DC, Cambridge, MA, and Los Angeles, CA. 60 participating companies will get the chance to network with industry experts and present their 18-month action plan. Mentors and life science industry experts are there to provide objective feedback and guidance on each company’s presentation relating to the company’s commercialization opportunities and strategy.
27 companies have concluded
the 2008-2009 United States Department of Agriculture Commercialization Training

program, start-ups focusing on a variety of innovations in the ag space, received
personalized mentoring covering a number of commercialization activities. Larta’s
Principal Advisors—experts in areas such as: marketing; finance; intellectual
property; partnerships; licensing and more—worked with the entrepreneurs on
developing their commercialization plans specific to their development stage, industry
and exit strategy. This was the second year of the USDA-CATP program and 25 entrepreneurs
have enrolled in the 2009-2010 program last October.
