We help governments successfully spin out their most innovative companies. Our programs incorporate business training, technology commercialization, innovation sourcing, and capital-raising services that help technology companies succeed. Our government programs incorporate the best practices over Larta's history since 1993 of commercialization and business acceleration services. Our domestic government clients include the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Commerce, the Department of Defense, the State of California, and the City of Long Beach. Clients also include international governments in Japan, Israel, Australia, Taiwan, Sweden, Finland, and elsewhere. Commercialization Larta's advisor team includes seasoned executives and consultants with real-world experience to help companies succeed in the real world. Through its numerous government-funded programs and Larta University training workshops, the Institute has assisted hundreds of companies to grow and thrive. Our expert trainers are leading experts and practitioners in the fields of management, business development, technology investment, competitive analysis, market strategy, human resources, and other related areas. Through the use of expert mentoring, business consulting, and smart capital acquisition, we help companies chart the course for their technologies to move from the laboratory to the marketplace. We have helped guide hundreds of technology companies to develop fundamental research into successful, market-savvy products. Capital-Raising Capital-raising services are vital aspects of most Larta programs. Through customized consulting, targeted introductions, and investor forums, Larta Institute's programs help companies raise the money they need to grow and succeed. Since 1993, Larta has managed events that showcase companies to the investor and corporate communities. Investor forums are frequently incorporated as the final element in the business training, mentoring, commercialization and development process. We prepare companies to make the best presentations possible, and then introduce them to the right investors for their technologies, products, and industry sectors. We believe in smart money. We want companies to partner with investors who will do more than open their checkbooks. We want investors who will help guide companies, make introductions, and take an energetic role in the continuing success of the company, while respecting the rights and responsibilities of the company founders and executives. We have the contacts to help companies succeed. We have worked with and gained the trust of hundreds of angel investors, venture capitalists, institutional financiers, and leading companies in a wide range of industries. Programs United States National Institutes of Health Commercialization Assistance Program (NIH-CAP) is designed to help promising SBIR Phase-II life science companies bring their technologies to market. This NIH-funded nationwide program combines training workshops, individual mentoring and consulting sessions, and public events in which companies present their technologies to the investment community and potential strategic partners and licensees. In its first year, NIH-CAP mentored 114 NIH funded SBIR Phase II awardees. Advanced Technology Program Commercialization Assistance Program is funded by the Department of Commerce's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to assist Advanced Technology Program (ATP) awardees. The workshop and mentoring program provides participants a comprehensive roadmap to help move their technologies into the competitive marketplace. Mentors help prepare companies for their commercialization efforts and address issues facing innovators in the marketplace. California Technology Investment Partnership (CalTIP), managed in Southern California by Larta Institute for nine years, was created through legislation enacted by the State of California to assist small companies developing innovative technologies. Testimonials "The program gave me enough exposure to the business way of thinking and an understanding of what needs to be in a presentation so that I am now acting more like a CEO than a scientist." "Although we were very comfortable with our technology and overall potential market, we had been struggling with how best to penetrate the market and what strategies would work best, what potential problems to avoid. Our advisor did an excellent job of guiding us just enough to point us in the right direction." "We've been persuaded to out-license programs not central to our strategy. This move will reduce our costs, increase our revenues, and sharpen our focus. As a result, our company is stronger." "The program was very helpful in getting our company focused on presenting our technology more clearly and effectively." "The CAP was instrumental in helping me focus and fine-tune my business case, as well as plan for strategic alliances. We have other SBIRs, and I am the one writing the Commercialization Plan for that as well, based on my CAP experience." "Going through the NIH-CAP process was a key element in our strategic planning. It enabled us to detail how we could further push our science out into consumer health markets, and how we could raise money to make that happen." "I learned many practical lessons regarding the presentation of our technology that I can put to use immediately. The speakers were excellent, passionate, and highly motivational." "Superb.
I learned much from the small group breakout session that gave us a chance
to pick apart the presentations and lean how to improve them." "Excellent coaching." "During the Larta sessions, we got the chance to review the challenges facing us as well as opportunities for our growth." "Larta mentors have helped us focus and define methods to meet our goals." "Due to the extensive seminar sessions, organized well by Larta, we have reorganized our thinking, and prepared our materials and presentations in a manner acceptable by the U.S. business community." "The program has strengthened our belief and understanding of our ability to penetrate the U.S. market, as well as the importance of doing so. Without the program exposing us to the way business is done here, we could not have prepared our presentations adequately." "The mentoring, as well as the contacts with the leading forces in the biomedical industry here, would have been almost impossible to attain from the far distance of Israel." "During the Larta sessions, we got the chance to review the challenges facing us as well as opportunities for our growth. We understood more thoroughly what we need to do while approaching the potential strategic alliance and what we lack now in this effort. Larta mentors have helped us focus and define methods to meet our goals." contact us | terms of use | site map | privacy policy | jobs |
