Connecting People to Drive Innovation
Larta Institute is a
leading “innovation hub” based in the U.S. Our network and influence is seen
across the world. We represent a new breed of companies, referred to as
“networked organizations,”
which are central to the movement of ideas and technologies in an interconnected
world. Our mission is to vastly
improve the transition of scientific and technological breakthroughs from the
laboratory to the marketplace, where they can solve problems, enhance economic
opportunities and better people's lives.
As a
professional services firm, we design and manage commercialization
programs on behalf of clients. These range from federal agencies in the U.S. to
national governments and regional authorities across the globe, from
public-private partnerships to universities.
We increase the market- and investor-readiness of emerging entrepreneurs
supported by these institutions.
Originally conceived
through legislation enacted by the State of California, Larta Institute has
expanded its sphere of influence and business throughout the world, serving
thousands of technology business in a wide number of sectors through programs
developed in conjunction with governments and other large institutional players.
As
a
trusted partner to both the investment and corporate communities, we
serve as a critical interface between innovators who have developed fundamental
and applied advances and industrial users who use and deploy those innovations
which they see as increasingly important to their growth and success. Our
network includes subject matter experts, seasoned entrepreneurs, investors, and
Fortune 1000 companies seeking to access innovative new business opportunities.
Since 1993, we have helped entrepreneurs to raise over $1.5 billion in capital.
We are
“sector-agnostic”, meaning that we successfully apply the tools, knowledge and
discipline honed over our history to create compelling outcomes for our clients
in diverse sectors ranging from the life sciences and health care to clean tech,
from agriculture and plant sciences to information technology. Our engagements
reflect this diversity and success.
On the capital side, clients also benefit
from association with Larta’s venture capital affiliate, T2VC, an early-stage firm that invests money
and time in startups spinning out of academia and government. The T2 team
uncovers the best technologies in the world, helps jump-start young companies,
and connects them to a global network of top-tier investors, partners, and
talent.
