TelASIC Raises $22.5 million for wireless launch
El Segundo and Thousand Oaks-based TelASIC Communications (www.telasic.com) announced that the company has raised an initial round of $22.5 million to launch the company's advanced wireless products. ComVentures led the round, with Larta Sponsors Mission Ventures, Raytheon, and Redpoint Ventures participating. The company is developing high performance RF and analog mixed signal solutions for wireless products, and is a spinoff of Raytheon's Advanced Products group.

Larta is selling a Harris 20-20 Call Center, including switch, control station, and 40 government spec phones. This top-of-the-line call center includes a dual tower, redundant switch, which can handle 1000 simultaneous incoming and outgoing phone calls. Bought in 1998 for over $400,000 and used for only a few months (estimated having ever handled only 1000 calls TOTAL), the Center includes videos, manuals, etc. Dozens of photos of the unit can be seen here. February 19: Homeland Security Conference: Technology Against Terrorism
This conference is for businesses with counter-terrorism and homeland security technologies and products, featuring an "expo" of selected products, services and technologies related to counter-terrorism, homeland security or emergency response.
